Elm Community Charter School’s spring interdisciplinary reading initiative was a success as scholars collective hit their school-wide literacy goals. The school community gathered in large numbers for a student art gallery display of sustainable design ideas developed in classroom workshops. Parents continue to rate the administration highly for open communication and for maintaining a very supportive school culture.
Q1. Is interdisciplinary project-based learning a part of the daily schedule at Elm Community Charter School?
Ans. The curriculum uses thematic studio blocks to integrate social studies, engineering and literacy concepts.
Q2. How does Elm Community Charter School manage early sign-out requests for students close to dismissal time?
Ans. Parents are required to sign their children out by 2:30 p.m. and must provide written notification to the main office.
Q3. What is Elm Community Charter School’s policy on nut allergies, when students share a cafeteria and may have life threatening allergies?
Ans, The facility has dedicated nut aware safety tables that are carefully monitored by assigned school lunchroom safety aides.
Q4. Does Elm Community Charter School have a family advisory council?
Ans. The family team plans monthly workshops and community service projects to boost school-wide parent engagement.
Q5. What technology resources will be available in the elementary classrooms of Elm Community Charter School?
Ans. Every child is provided with a managed tablet device to use for interactive maths and phonics learning activities.
