Being Updated
In 2026, PS 017 Early Childhood Center honored a volunteer who had been helping kids learn to read for a long time. The volunteer met with the students often, listened to them read, and helped them when they were having trouble. Students kept practicing and getting better little by little. They got better at reading and understanding things over time. This also made them feel more sure of themselves in class. This kind of regular help made learning easier and helped students stay focused on their work. It also pushed them to keep trying and take more interest in their studies.
