Being Updated
During Career Discovery Week, students at Transit Tech High School toured Grand Central Terminal and met with MTA employees from NYC Transit, Metro-North, LIRR and MTA Police to explore career pathways in engineering, security, train operations, and customer service. The school has built a strong industry partnership that has helped 77 Transit Tech graduates land jobs in the MTA’s Transit Electrical Apprentice Program since 2016. Starting in ninth grade, students can gain real-world experience in labs for computer-assisted drafting, electrical work and IT, with three-year CTE majors that prepare them for careers with the MTA and other transportation networks.
