P.S. 99 Isaac Asimov recently spotlighted its GottaRead program, a reading initiative connected with the New York Mets, Delta Airlines and the school community. Reading logs and stickers are provided to students in grades 1-5 to record reading time in folders. The program also includes milestone rewards and grand prizes such as a private Citi Field tour and a gift card. It provides students with a lively reason to develop stronger reading habits, while bringing school spirit into literacy practice.
