Thanks to Trust for Public Land, the newly renovated schoolyard at Juan Morel Campos Secondary School was celebrated with the opening, which features basketball courts by artist Nina Chanel Abney, a turf field, running track, outdoor classroom, fitness equipment and permeable pavers that capture 840,000 gallons of stormwater annually. “Campos Rising: Welcome Students Day” will open the doors to families on May 16, 2026, with tours of the building and previews of sports, arts and electives for the Class of 2030.
