High School for Youth and Community Development provides students with a School-Based Mental Health Clinic and School Based Health Center with Mental Health Services through NYU Langone FHC, so that students have access to counseling and wellness support on campus. The school participates in citywide initiatives such as Saturday Night Lights, which offers free sports programs on Saturday nights throughout the year to keep young people occupied and safe. It is a community school that links students to after school programs, Beacon services, and DYCD employment and internship opportunities for youth between the ages of 14 and 24.
