Gotham Professional Arts Academy moved into the same building as Acorn Community HS, and is participating in a participatory budgeting pilot sponsored by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, where students choose how to spend $500,000 on building improvements such as a renovated dance room, gym floor or outdoor basketball court. We meet twice a week to run the project, the student government, and learn about cost analysis and community building, while increasing student voice.
