The East Brooklyn Ascend Charter School (EBACS), as per its last assessment, was noted to have been performing in the top three of all schools in the Ascend group in grades K-4. There are only three Ascend campuses that offer capoeira lessons; and EBACS is the sole school in the Ascend group where there is just one class per grade level.
Q1. Why does East Brooklyn Ascend Charter School (EBACS) have one class per grade?
Ans. EBACS was designed as the smallest school in the Ascend family of schools, intentionally limiting itself to having one class per grade to make sure there is a tight-knit relationship among the staff and students.
Q2. Is capoeira offered at East Brooklyn Ascend Charter School (EBACS)?
Ans. Yes, EBACS is one of only three Ascend Network schools that offer capoeira as a form of student enrichment programming in addition to their regular academic programs.
Q3. In which areas of New York do East Brooklyn Ascend Charter School students come from?
Ans. East Brooklyn Ascend Charter School draws their students from East New York, Flatlands, and Howard Beach, while their lottery includes New York City as a whole.

Ans. East Brooklyn Ascend Charter School opened in Fall 2019, being one of the newest Ascend charter schools, and operates within CSD 19.

Ans. EBACS is one of the top three performing schools in the network, ranking in the top three schools across all of the assessments in grades K-4.
