The Urban Institute of Mathematics is part of the NYC Department of Education's Community Schools program. The school works with East Side House to give students and their families extra help. These services are meant to help students do better in school by getting them to come to class more often and be more involved in their studies. The program helps make the school a more connected place where students can get both academic and social support to keep up with their learning and growth.
