The Rosalyn Yalow Charter School chess team captured first place at the New York State Scholastic Chess Championships, March 2026, in Saratoga Springs. Students faced off against more than 1,700 students from schools across the state and were recognized for their outstanding performance and teamwork. The school’s chess team, after winning the championship, travelled to Baltimore for the National Elementary Championships. This achievement was a direct consequence of the school’s continued focus on student engagement, academic activities and extracurricular development.
