PS 96 recently celebrated its latest “Teacher of the Year” for his outstanding dedication to instructional excellence and student mentorship. The school community celebrated its annual “Rodgers Music Festival,” a community event to celebrate student accomplishments in the arts and school spirit. Students on campus also have a brand new digital lab where they can participate in weekly tech challenges and learn basic computer coding.

Ans. Rhythmic patterns may be used by teachers to teach math, or dramatic role-play used to help students master complex social studies concepts.

Q2. Does PS 96 provide students in the primary grade levels with instrumental music lessons?

Ans. Yes, students can start introductory violin or percussion lessons as early as second grade to encourage an early love of music.

Q3. What kind of theatrical performance opportunities do students have each year at PS 96?

Ans. We have a winter showcase and a full spring musical with students involved in acting, singing and stage production for families.

Q4: How is PS 96 celebrating the creative accomplishments of its students throughout the school?

Ans. Our hallways are student-created galleries and we have regular “Rodgers Recitals” to showcase individual and group talents.
