PS 67 Mohegan School is found at 2024 Mohegan Avenue in the West Farms area. It enrolls 380 students in grades PK-5 with a 11:1 student-teacher ratio. Math proficiency stands at 72% and reading proficiency at 42%. There are 52% male and 48% female students in the school. The campus has a community feel that places a high value on respect and personal growth. Students participate in daily specialized science labs that provide experiential learning opportunities and basic scientific inquiry. The daily schedule includes a structured social-emotional learning program to support students in building interpersonal skills. Beyond the classroom, the school hosts a physical education initiative that focuses on team-building and healthy lifestyle habits. A specialized coding club is also available to introduce older students to the fundamentals of software development.
Q1. What is the “Mohegan Mentors” program and how does it help primary school students to develop their social confidence and reading skills?
Ans. In a loving community, our senior scholars are paired with younger “reading buddies” to learn how to lead and support each other.
Q2. Does PS 67 have a space students can go to for a quiet break during the school day?
Ans. Students have access to our campus “Wellness Room” with many calming tools to help students regulate their emotions and refocus for learning.
Q3. What are the motor skills developmental activities in PS 67 physical education curriculum?
Ans. Each week students participate in structured active play and cooperative games to build coordination, balance and healthy team-building habits.
Q4. How does PS 67 share school updates with families who want the updates in their home language?
Ans. All newsletters and safety alerts are published in multiple languages to help ensure that all parents are well informed and connected to campus life.
Q5. Are parents able to volunteer for PS 67’s school garden project and campus beautification days?
Ans. We do to!! Join us for our “Green Team” events, where families can help maintain our outdoor learning spaces and teach students about local ecology.
