P.S. 36 Unionport announced its Summer Reading Kickoff and BOGO Book Fair scheduled for June 8 through June 12, 2026. Students at the Bronx school were introduced to summer reading challenges through the Beanstack app and participation opportunities connected to the New York Public Library. The program was organized to encourage reading engagement and provide students with expanded access to books during the summer period. School-based literacy initiatives and book fairs continue to support independent reading and community library participation among elementary students.
