Students in math class at Pelham Academy of Academics and Community Engagement work on a "dream home" project where they plan the layout of their own homes using measurements and space planning. In this activity, students use real measurements to make a full plan by moving furniture around and using basic math. Instead of just reading about it in books, this gives them a hands-on way to learn about things like area and spacing. The project keeps students interested in class and helps them see how what they learn in school can be used in real life.
