Bronx Charter School For The Arts recently held its first-ever “Arts in Action” gala, with students presenting original gallery works and theatrical pieces for the local community. The school is celebrating a new partnership with a regional dance conservatory that will bring weekly specialized instruction and professional mentorship to students. Also, the campus recently renovated its main studio space to accommodate the growing student interest in digital photography and media.
Q1. What is the impact of the arts-integrated curriculum at Bronx Charter School for the Arts on student learning?
Ans. School incorporate visual and performing arts into School's daily lessons so that School's students will explore the creative side of them and develop critical thinking skills in all subjects.
Q2. What unique creative facilities does Bronx Charter School for the Arts have for students?
Ans. Students can also take specialized theatre and choral tracks and have access to a photography lab where they are taught the basics of digital editing and media.
Q3. What is the Schoolekly schedule for specialized performing arts instruction for students?
Ans. In addition to their daily Artist Circles, where students talk about their creative processes and build communication skills, students are also involved in specialized theater and choral tracks.
Q4. How does the school use the arts to support students socially and emotionally?
Ans. Daily Artist Circles and creative self-expression give students the personal fortitude and communication skills they need for long-term development.
Q5. There are a number of ways for students to share their artistic talents with the community.
Ans. The school sponsors an annual “Arts in Action” gala and collaborates with local conservatories to provide professional mentorship and public performance opportunities.
