Mae E. Reynolds Elementary School is buzzing with excitement after a successful “Fun Run,” an energetic event that saw students, staff and local families come together for a celebration of health and school spirit.

In addition to monitoring the milestones in action, the campus is also in full engagement of the entire transition to a standards-based, trimester grading system. “This structural support is designed to make parent-teacher conversations smoother and improve in-the-moment assessments, leading to more targeted student growth and stronger community engagement as the school year unfolds.”

FAQ

Q1. What kind of safety precautions are implemented at the school entrance?

Ans. The campus has a secure single point of entry with locked exterior doors. All visitors must buzz in, state their purpose and show a valid photo identification at the main office to be granted access to the building.

Q2. Are there opportunities for instrumental music in older elementary students?

Ans. Students in fourth and fifth grade are eligible to participate in the school’s band or orchestra program. This consists of weekly small group lessons and performances of seasonal concerts.

Q3. How is physical education organized for the students?

Ans. Students take part in physical education classes several times a week in the school gym or on outdoor athletic fields to develop basic motor skills, team sportsmanship and general physical wellness.

Q4. How do we enrol a new student in the school?

Ans. The registration has to be done at the central district registrar’s office, with parents providing proof of residency, the birth certificate of the child, current immunization records and an enrollment packet filled out.

Q5. Do students have access to a library or media center?

Ans. The campus has a full-service library media center that classes visit weekly to check out reading materials, hear read-alouds, and learn foundational digital research skills.
