Jesse D. Scott Elementary is starting the school year with some fun new projects that will get students involved in their communities and the environment. The school has started a project to make the campus look better. This includes a school garden and plans for a sensory garden and a place for pollinators to live. Teachers and staff say that the new outdoor areas are already inspiring students and giving them chances to learn by doing, as well as making them feel more connected to nature.

The school also took part in "Bike to School Day," which encouraged families and students to use safe, active transportation and brought the school community closer together.
