Being Updated
University Hills Elementary School hosted its Fall Festival in October 2025. The event was a success with significant support from ENLACES student volunteers.
Q1. What are some safe ways that University Hills teaches basic chemistry?
Ans. Students learn about simple reactions like mixing colors, dissolving solids, and watching temperature changes to spark their interest in science.
Q2. How does the school help with early emotional mapping?
Ans. Students can clearly identify and discuss their feelings in class by using emotion charts, color-coded check-ins, and guided vocabulary practice.
Q3. What activities help early engineering by building bridges?
Ans. Students test spans made of blocks, paper, or craft sticks to learn about stability, weight distribution, and how to improve designs.
Q4. How does University Hills get people interested in local wildlife?
Ans. Teachers help students find tracks, learn about local species, and compare habitats that are close to the school.
Q5. How does the school use stories to teach kids the basics of coding?
Ans. Students put story panels in order like "steps," which helps them learn how to make a clear "program" while also improving their understanding of the story.
