The Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility has recently added more classes thanks to a partnership with the New Mexico Corrections Department and the Level program, which teaches entrepreneurship and computer science through correspondence. These new programs work with existing vocational tracks in commercial driving, welding, and au to motive technology to help students learn skills that will be useful in their careers after they get out of prison. The facility's adult education programs are also still doing well, which has helped the state reach its high school equivalency goals for the third year in a row.
