Cesar Chavez Elementary School celebrated the second birthday of its mascot, “Tito the Coyote,” in July 2025. Tito continues to support a positive school culture through the school’s “Leader in Me” program.
Q1. How does Cesar Chavez Elementary School help students appreciate other cultures?
Ans. Students celebrate, read stories, and listen to music from different cultures in class. This helps them honor and learn about different customs.
Q2. How does the school help students work together better?
Ans. Students learn how to work well with others by doing things like taking on cooperative group roles, sharing problem-solving tasks, and having structured team discussions.
Q3. What do you do to help students stay focused during lessons?
Ans. To help students settle and stay interested, teachers employ calming breaths, quiet-start routines, and visual focus cues.
Q4. What does Cesar Chavez do to help students feel more confident when they give presentations?
Ans. Students begin by practicing the sharing of small ideas, then progress to delivering short group presentations to become more comfortable speaking in front of others.
Q5. What does the school do to teach kids about money?
Ans. Students do simple things like saving classroom tokens, making a budget for class stores, or talking about what they need and want.
