Being Updated
Southern Heights Elementary is getting stronger thanks to support from the community, better facilities, and a growing sense of school spirit. The Hobbs Municipal Schools (HMS) district won a big award for maintenance this summer. Southern Heights is one of the best-maintained campuses in New Mexico because they got over 97% on statewide facility inspections.
Southern Heights recently hosted a fun "Movie Under the Stars" night that a lot of families went to. This is a clear sign that parents are involved and the community is coming together.
On the other hand, the district's new $218 million budget promises to keep supporting staff, classrooms, and student services on all campuses, which will directly help Southern Heights.
