See top schools in Middletown Township
The building sits on New Monmouth Road in a quiet suburban corner of Middletown Township where mornings begin with friendly routines: a crossing guard helping children across the street, teachers greeting families, and neighbors walking dogs past the school lawn. It’s a place where the school really feels like part of the neighborhood. With around 510 students and a student-teacher ratio of about 11:1, New Monmouth keeps class sizes smaller than many places, which helps the adults know their students not just by name but by story.Academically, the school stands solid. About 47% of children meet proficiency in math, and around 53% in reading in recent reporting.
While these figures aren’t the highest in the district, they reflect steady effort in a setting where community and support matter as much as test scores. Nearby schools in the same township show stronger numbers, and families often say New Monmouth offers a reliable, familiar option in a welcoming environment. On housing, the area around the school draws families because of its stability and convenience. Local data show that homes fall into a higher-value tier, suggesting a monthly rental range in the ball-park of US $1,500+ for a three-bedroom (depending on condition and exact location). Many families choose this zone knowing the school ties into long-terms rather than just a stop-over.
The real legacy lies in former students returning, as volunteers, educators, or active community members. That continuity gives the school a quietly strong identity: children grow up here, and many stay around because the network and sense of belonging feel genuine.
New Playground Name
We are so excited to announce the name of our new playground! Following a school-wide and Robinson community vote we narrowed a large list of names down to four. Since our students will be using the playground on a daily basis, we gave them the final vote! 476.....

Being Updated
In October 2025, New Monmouth Elementary held a “Global Cultures Week”, where each class explored a different country’s traditions, families brought cultural artifacts or recipes, and the hallways became small “country corners.” It was an event that brought parents, students and teachers together and underscored how the school values connection beyond just academics.
1. What kind of everyday feel does the school have?
A. It’s welcoming and settled. Teachers know names, students know each other, and the school rhythm is calm but purposeful.
2. How do families get involved?
A. There’s an active PTA, open classroom events, and the school invites parents into cultural celebrations, reading nights, and creative projects.
3. Does the school offer enrichment or creative opportunities?
A. Yes, you’ll find art displays, student-led projects, and themed weeks (like Global Cultures Week) that give children a chance to explore beyond the core subjects.
4. How are students supported if they struggle academically?
A. Because class sizes are smaller, teachers are better able to identify when a student needs extra help and tailor support with small-group work or one-on-one guidance.
5. What do families appreciate most about New Monmouth?
A. They often point to two things: the consistency (teachers staying, community staying) and the fact that the school feels deeply rooted in the neighborhood rather than transient.
