About Learning Community Charter School

Learning Community Charter School (LCCS) is one of best Elementary Schools in New Jersey, recognized for its diversity, academic achievement, and community-oriented environment. Formed in 1997 by local parents, the school has expanded from 98 to over 630 learners in Pre-K–8. Demand for the school's programs and the resultant number of families is reflected in its lottery-based admission process. LCCS exhibits diversity as it has over 70% minority enrollment and over 20 languages spoken within the home. Educationally, LCCS excels as its reading scores are approximately 76% proficient and its mathematics scores exceed state scores. LCCS demonstrates student success beyond the classroom, as well as educational achievement opportunities, by establishing a “house system” which prepares students while upholding good character through values such as courage, leadership, and respect.
