James Monroe Elementary School stands out among Elementary Schools in New Jersey, with about 520 students enrolled in grades K–5. After a fire that destroyed the building, it was rebuilt in 2017. The brand-new campus features modern classrooms, a gym, a media center, and space dedicated to specialized learning. The school also has a strong degree of diversity, with over 80% of students being minority, which contributes to it being a welcoming and inclusive place. With approximately 12-1 student–teacher ratio, children receive individualized support to foster academic growth. Currently, approximately 56% of students are reading at grade level and 45% of students are at grade level in math, which shows continued success and commitment to excellence. Families appreciate a strong sense of community at the school, and they appreciate the active parent involvement and the staff’s dedication to supporting each student’s academic and personal development.
