Being Updated
Walnut Hill Elementary School noted the recent opening of a new third-mile section of the Beltline Trail near the campus. Students are already using the trail for daily walks to school, with additional sections expected to open in 2026.
Q1. How does Walnut Hill help students learn how to listen for details?
Ans. Teachers read short passages out loud and then ask students questions about the details to help them learn how to focus on important information.
Q2. What are some simple motion-tracking activities that the school does in science?
Ans. Students roll things down ramps, compare speeds, and write down what they see as part of their early physical science exploration.
Q3. What do students do on a regular basis to keep their take-home folders organized?
Ans. Students empty, review, and return their folders every day so that communication between home and school stays the same.
Q4. How does Walnut Hill encourage students to use classroom art supplies carefully?
Ans. Teachers show students how to safely use scissors, glue, and drawing tools, and they remind them to clean up after each project.
Q5. What does the school do to get students ready for guest speakers?
Ans. Before guests arrive, classes go over what is expected of them when they listen, how to ask questions, and how to act respectfully in front of guests.
