Sandoz Elementary School announced that teacher Lori Pflaster was named one of four finalists for the 2026 Nebraska Teacher of the Year award. The recognition highlights her instructional excellence and contributions to students.
Q1. How does Sandoz handle student pick-up when the weather is awful?
Ans. When the weather changes, the school uses different indoor waiting areas and changes the flow of traffic to keep everyone safe.
Q2. How does Sandoz keep track of the jobs that students do in class?
Ans. Teachers use rotating job charts so that each student can help with daily tasks like managing materials or leading the line.
Q3. What do families need to know about the rules for PE shoes?
Ans. Students must wear athletic shoes on PE days to keep them safe while they are moving around and learning about fitness in a way that is in line with the district.
Q4: How does Sandoz get students ready for substitute teachers?
Ans. Classrooms have charts and guides so students know what to expect, even with a substitute.
Q5. How does the school handle getting permission slips for events?
Ans. Teachers collect slips in special folders, and the office checks to make sure that all students who took part met district requirements.
