Calvert Elementary School students met their October “Coyote ticket” goal by demonstrating safe, respectful, and responsible behavior. As a reward, they earned an extra recess. The achievement reflects the school’s emphasis on positive behavior and community expectations.
Q1. How does Calvert help students learn how to read simple school maps and understand direction?
Ans. Students use arrows and marked paths to show how they would get from one place to another at school.
Q2. How does the school help students learn to recognize persuasive language early on?
Ans. Teachers underline words that show opinions or suggestions to help students tell the difference between facts and opinions.
Q3. What are some ways to help students keep their math tools in order?
Ans. Students keep pencil boxes or math bags with labeled spots for number cards, counters, and rulers.
Q4. How does Calvert start the study of how shadows change throughout the day?
Ans. As part of their early earth science work, students record how shadows change in length or direction.
Q5. How does the school help students learn how to log in to their Chromebooks safely?
Ans. With the help of their teachers, students practice typing usernames, checking passwords, and going to sites that are allowed.
