Adams Elementary School announced that Mary Abebe, a K–5 computer science teacher, received the 2025 Scottish Rite Educator of the Year grant with a $10,000 award. She was honored for her commitment to students and her creative approach to instruction. The school community celebrated her achievement.
Q1. How does Adams show students how to read basic safety signs in the building?
Ans. Students learn to recognize symbols like exit signs, hazard icons, and directional arrows so they can get around safely in their daily lives.
Q2. How do "stations" in the classroom help students reset between activities?
Ans. Adams uses small reset spots where students stop for a moment, take a breath, and look over the next task. This helps transitions go smoothly.
Q3. How does the school help students learn the basics of breaking patterns?
Ans. Teachers help students figure out when a sequence changes and why that break is important for math or reading.
Q4. What routines help students when they are putting together science trays that they all use?
Ans. Students use a picture guide to find out where tools go, which makes sure that trays are stocked correctly after investigations.
Q5. How does Adams help people understand digital responsibility at an early age?
Ans. Teachers set simple rules, like being careful when clicking, closing tabs correctly, and keeping passwords secret.
