WASMER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL participated in district initiatives aimed at strengthening early literacy and building strong classroom communities across Grand Island Public Schools. Teachers incorporated new reading materials, book clubs, and small-group conferences to better match texts with student interests. Math lessons emphasized problem-solving and the use of visual models, while technology stations provided additional practice in both subjects.

Ans. The school sends out weekly folders, email updates, district messages, and sometimes classroom apps to keep in touch with students.

Ans. Staff use school-wide rules, programs that reward good behavior, and lessons that teach social and emotional skills to encourage good choices.

Ans. A school counselor and teachers in the classroom teach SEL lessons, help kids work out their problems, and check in with each student when they need to.
