Being Updated
A fun, hands-on learning activity at Roosevelt Elementary School is making the news because it is getting students excited and curious. As part of a statewide effort to get kids more interested in math and science, the school was recently chosen to receive the first special delivery of Hess toy trucks. The kids cheered when the trucks got there and were excited to see the STEM lessons that came with them. Students spent the morning using protractors to build ramps and doing things that made math and science seem fun, useful, and exciting. Teachers talked about how these hands-on lessons connect creativity with solving problems in the real world. This helps kids see how fun it is to learn STEM skills through play.
