The Guilford County Schools district includes Jesse Wharton Elementary School, which is at 5813 Lake Brandt Road in Greensboro, North Carolina. The school keeps class sizes small so that each student can get personal attention and be involved. The student-teacher ratio is about 14:1. The students do well in school; about 69% are good at maths, which is much higher than the state average of about 51%. About 65% of people can read well.
The school has a wide range of students and is in the top 20% of elementary schools in North Carolina when all of the test scores are added together. Families like the strong academic culture, the fact that parents are involved, and the fact that students do well all the time. Students at this school get a mix of basic lessons and extra activities, which helps the school get a good reputation in the Greensboro area.
