Hawks Nest STEAM Academy in Gastonia is one of those schools where classrooms are always buzzing with ideas. You might see a group of kids working on a small robot in one corner while another team paints models for a science fair. The school follows a STEAM approach, blending science and art so that students learn to build, imagine, and test what they dream up. Teachers know their students well, the ratio stays close to 1 teacher for every 17 students, which helps keep lessons personal.
In recent state tests, the academy’s math results came out higher than the North Carolina average, something parents often mention with pride. Nearby schools like Robinson and Woodhill also show strong scores, making this part of Gastonia quite education-focused. Families like Hawks Nest because it feels lively, safe, and genuinely curious, a place where learning doesn’t end when the bell rings.
