Bradford Preparatory School is one of the leading elementary schools in North Carolina, serving a K–12. This charter school in Charlotte fosters an environment that is safe, supportive, and promotes student achievement. Bradford has a community of 1,511 students. They are encouraged to develop personally and within their community while achieving academic success as well as developing character. Bradford's overall student-teacher ratio is 14:1, based on 107 full-time certified teachers and 5 counselors. Bradford maintains a student-centered approach to learning, both in and out of the classroom. Based on the recently published NC Department of Public Instruction data, Bradford enjoys strong academic performance. Sixty-five percent of students were proficient in math and 64% in reading. Furthermore, Bradford's student enrollment is very diverse. Fifty-three percent of students are represented as minorities, and there is an almost equal gender ratio of male and female students. With a ranking of #38 out of Charter Elementary Schools and #48 out of Charter Middle Schools in North Carolina, Bradford cultivates creativity, critical thinking, and family involvement in a safe and supportive school environment. It helps students to be better prepared to be successful in the future.

After being voted as Charlotte's Best Charter School for the fourth year-in-a-row, Bradford Preparatory School is proud to boast numerous National Merit Finalists and one student selected to the NC Governor's School. Kindergarten teacher Ms. Hilsabeck was a finalist for the 2025 Burroughs Wellcome Fund NC Beginning Teacher award. Bradford Preparatory School is also proud to promote leadership through HOBY along with highlighting athletic excellence, with several alumni competing in an NCAA championship once upon completion of graduation.
