Oakview Elementary School is situated in Apex, North Carolina. Oakview educates children in Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade, enrolling approximately 975 students with a student to teacher ratio of about 15 : 1. Academic performance is strong; about 73% of students are proficient in math and 69% are proficient in reading, which ranks in the top 20% of elementary schools in North Carolina. Oakview opened a new, modern building for the 2016-17 school year, has specialized space for the arts, and a learning commons. On October 24, 2025, Olympic gold-medalist Jenoah McKiver spoke to students about discipline, perseverance, and chasing after dreams.
There are capacity pressures at the school; the Wake County Public School System has proposed reassigning students from Oakview (and other schools) to relieve overcrowding.
Q1. How do you assist children with special needs?
Ans. We create individual learning plans and welcoming classrooms so all students can reach their goals.
Q2. What safety steps do you take?
Ans. To keep students safe, we have secure entrances and verify student IDs during check-in. We also practice safety drills.
Q3. How do you include parents?
Ans. Our PTA and volunteer programs help build strong connections between the school and families.
Q4. Do you use tech to help students learn?
Ans. Yes, each grade uses Chromebooks and online tools to make learning interactive and useful.
Q5. Does Oakview Elementary offer transportation?
Ans. Yes, we have a bus for students who live in the District's assigned neighborhood areas.
