A $34 million district bond that was just approved will help Lawhon Elementary School in Tupelo. Some of the planned improvements are new classrooms, better facilities, and bigger areas for recreation. The community is happy with the investment because it supports the school's focus on academics, student growth, and making the school a safe, modern place to learn.
Q1: What do new students need to do to sign up for Lawhon Elementary School?
Ans. To enroll, families must show proof of residency, immunization records, proof of age, and complete district registration forms.
Q2. Are there programs at Lawhon Elementary to help kids improve their behavior or character?
Ans. Yes, the school uses programs that the district has approved to teach kids how to behave well, be respectful, and develop social and emotional skills.
Q3. Do students have access to meals on campus?
Ans. Yes, Lawhon Elementary serves breakfast and lunch every day. Students who qualify can get free or reduced-price meals.
What technology tools do students have at their disposal?
Students use computers, tablets, and educational software in the classroom to help them learn math, reading, and other important subjects.
Q5. Are parents able to help out or take part in school events?
Ans. Yes, parents can get involved by volunteering in the classroom, going to school events, and joining parent-teacher organizations that help the school community.
