The Mississippi Department of Education officially named Meridian High School a School of Innovation because it is committed to unique academic paths and learning through projects. The campus recently celebrated the grand opening of a brand-new Baseball and Softball Complex. This was a big investment in the school's sports facilities. Students are still doing well in the arts and leadership. For example, the theater department was recently chosen to perform at the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum's MLK Night of Culture.
