For a long time, Shirley Elementary School in Jackson, Mississippi, has been doing great things. It changed its name not too long ago to honor Dr. Aaron Shirley and Dr. Ollye Shirley, two important people in education and civil rights. This accomplishment shows that the school is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where everyone can succeed academically. Jackson Public Schools is working to improve its buildings, and this school is a part of that. The plan to fix up and modernize schools will cost $250 million. It will help with too many people and have designs that last longer.

People in the area are excited about the future, and Shirley Elementary is getting ready for a bright one. The last day of Winter Break will be January 5, 2026. It's clear that the school wants to help kids do well in school and get involved in the community.
