The school is part of a $250 million building project that will fix overcrowding, make schools better, and use strong designs. Not only will this project make schools better places to learn, it will also help the local economy.

For the school year 2025–2026, Dr. Desma Kelly will be the principal of Powell Middle School. She has a lot of experience and has done a lot of great things in her job. The Supper Meal Program is also good for the school because it makes sure that kids have food to eat so they can learn and grow. Powell Middle School is also honoring its students' hard work, curiosity, and achievements with events like Scholar Appreciation Week.
