Everyone at Johnson Elementary School in Jackson, Mississippi, is very excited! The school is getting ready to welcome students back on January 5, 2026, after a well-deserved winter break. Johnson Elementary is part of the Jackson Public Schools' efforts to build a culture of academic excellence and readiness for the workforce.
The school has been honoring students' successes, like those who reached their Accelerated Reader (AR) goals. Johnson Elementary also works with Communities In Schools (CIS) to give students in need important resources. The school is also part of a larger $250 million construction project that aims to improve educational facilities, reduce overcrowding, and include designs that can withstand damage.
