Being Updated
Recently, students from Highlands Elementary School in Edina took part in the Minnesota Zoo's STEM Design Challenge. Small groups came up with ways to make animal homes better, and their projects were some of the few chosen from over 250 entries. The students said they liked working together and seeing their ideas come to life. Teachers said that the project was a fun, hands-on way to get kids to be creative, solve problems, and work together. The challenge showed how Highlands Elementary is focused on learning outside of the classroom. Families and staff praised the students for being curious and taking the lead, showing that kids can do big things and make a difference even in elementary school.
