Being Updated
Adams Elementary will be part of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources School Forest Program this year. This will create a special outdoor learning space on the school's grounds. Students will learn about science and the environment through hands-on lessons in the forest. They will learn about things like tree ecology, wildlife habitats, and how to be more environmentally friendly. This spring, the program will start with a planting event and guided nature walks led by teachers from the district. School leaders say the program helps them reach their goal of getting more students to learn outside of the classroom and getting a wider range of students involved in outdoor education. The partnership shows that Adams Elementary is more committed than ever to combining academic success with learning opportunities in the real world and in nature.
