About Choice Academy

Bloomington, Minnesota's Choice Academy is a public high school that is different from other high schools. It is for kids in grades 9 through 12 who live nearby and go to school there. There are about 120 students at the school, which is a small number that helps them learn. There are about ten students in each class. This lets teachers spend more time with each student and lets staff and students get to know each other better. Choice Academy's main goals are to keep students interested in school and help them get closer to graduation by giving them personalized learning paths, the chance to make up missed credits, and flexible schedules. Students learn mostly about the basics of school, how to deal with their emotions, and how to get ready for college, a career, or a job change. There are a lot of different kinds of students at the school, and many of them are from minority groups or don't have a lot of money. It doesn't always give scores for traditional math and ELA proficiency because it teaches in a different way. Students have the option to take standardized tests such as the ACT.
