Costello Elementary School serves approximately 406 students in Pre-K - Fifth grade. It is consistently ranked among the "best elementary schools in Michigan." Reports from the school indicate that about 61% of the students achieve proficiency in mathematics, and approximately 72% reach reading proficiency. The ratio of students to teachers is roughly 16 to 1, which includes approximately 25 full-time teachers, plus some extra support staff. The student population is also descriptively diverse, with approximately 43% being a minority and a strong Asian representation. Fewer than 20% qualify as "free or reduced lunch." The median home values of approximately $395,800 are reflective of a stable community environment.
