Great Lakes Academy is located at 46312 Woodward Ave in the urban heart of Pontiac. They serve students from grades K-8 and enrolls approximately 200 students with a student-teacher ratio of 18:1. 3% of students are proficient in math and 17% meet or exceed grade-level reading benchmarks. The student population is made up of 52% female students and 48% male students. The school offers a caring, small class setting environment where educators emphasize personalized support and character development in addition to academics.
The school is housed in a historic 1920s building that has served as a school for decades, a unique facility embedded in Pontiac’s legacy. Parents commend the academy for its nurturing staff, strong community relationships and a focus on helping each child grow. Its elementary program is also known as one of the best elementary schools in Michigan.
