With a K-8 segment in Detroit, Greenfield has approximately 260 students enrolled, with virtually all from low-income families. The school engages in a myriad of opportunities to engage and educate its students. Robotic, STEM, basketball and Girls programs extend the learning opportunities outside of the school day. They also provide after-school tutoring and home visits to engage the family. The school is perhaps best known for creating various safe spaces and student-created creative spaces, including a student-designed reading garden. Through it all, the students, families, and staff show what perseverance, diversity, and growth look like for kids in Detroit and throughout Michigan in elementary schools.
