About Washtenaw Alliance for Virtual Education

The Washtenaw Alliance for Virtual Education is a public virtual high school in Ann Arbor, Michigan, that serves grades 9–12. It is one of six high schools in the Washtenaw Independent School District. The school has about 500 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 20:1, which allows for personalized instruction in an online learning environment. The Washtenaw Alliance for Virtual Education is all about flexible, tech-based learning that lets students do their work from anywhere while still following state academic standards and a set pace. About 43% of the students are minorities, and about 61% of the students are from low-income families. This shows that the student body is very diverse. Students can take state-mandated tests and college-readiness tests like the SAT, just like they do in other districts. The amount of money each student gets is the same as what public virtual schools get. The school is known for its flexible scheduling, easy access, and personalized virtual learning approach. It serves families in the Ann Arbor area and offers an alternative path for students who want to learn online.
