Burns Park Elementary is clearly a favorite Elementary School in Michigan, effectively combining high quality academic programs with a strong local neighborhood connection. Burns Park Elementary originated in 1923 and was later renamed for its prime location right beside Burns Park and as many know. It has a very cool local feel as well, with many well-known community traditions, such as the annual Halloween parade. Burns Park has continuously received high marks, putting it within the top 10 percentile of Michigan schools. It typically has a strong proficiency rate of approximately 62% in math, and 68% in reading, which are well above the state levels. Burns Park Elementary has recently undergone some improvements, including energy efficient lighting, HVAC refurbishment, water refill stations, upgrade to safety and security systems, and improvements to learning, health, and wellness in students.
