South Highlands Elementary is one of the Shreveport schools often mentioned for strong academic performance. Louisiana’s math proficiency usually rests in the mid-forties to low-fifties, and South Highlands frequently reports results above that range. Many families appreciate the blend of stability and higher expectations. When comparing options, Eden Gardens and Fairfield Magnet show up too, since they also post good numbers. Three-bedroom rentals near this area generally land in the mid-$1,400s. For high school, C.E. Byrd and Captain Shreve are widely recognized names, and alumni from these paths have gone into law, engineering programs, and medical fields. South Highlands feels like the kind of school where kids are encouraged to try a little harder without feeling too much pressure.
