Being Updated
Recently, Foust Elementary School made headlines when a special needs student went missing from campus for a short time one morning. Owensboro police quickly found the child safe near a nearby street, and no one was hurt. School officials called the event "a failure on our part" and have since started a full review of staff procedures, campus supervision, and safety protocols. To make sure that these kinds of things don't happen again, the Owensboro Independent School District is adding more training and communication. This shows how serious they are about keeping students safe and holding them accountable. In better news, the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings have named Foust Elementary School as one of the best. The school is ranked #212 in Kentucky Elementary Schools and #2 among Owensboro Independent Elementary Schools. This is because the students are always making progress in school and doing well on state-required tests. These changes show that the school is taking steps to improve safety and that it is doing well academically in the state education system.
