Being Updated
In recent news The Lexington Fire Department picked a fifth-grader from Veterans Park Elementary to be the city's "Junior Fire Chief" after they wrote a great essay and made a poster about how important it is to know about smoke detectors and fire safety. The student will help spread safety messages around Lexington, go to events with the fire department, and visit local fire stations. This award shows that the school is committed to giving students more freedom in their learning and letting them experience things in the real world.
